Middle red button keeps getting stuck. Please Help
Hello,

I purchased the polar rcx5 heartrate and gps watch about 4months ago. The other day while cycling I paused the watch for a red light and then went to go start the watch again by pressing the middle red button the button did not work. After about a half an hour the button worked again; however, only for a few pushes and then the next day when I wanted to go for a run it would not work again. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem because I do love the watch but for its price I would like it to last more than 4months considering I’m only 17 and it took me over 4months to earn enough money to pay for it. THANKS
Sincerely,
Austin

Are You washing the clock after trainings? I have RS400, and I had some problems with buttons when I did not rinse the clock after runs. After I started to rinsing it, the buttons work pretty well.

Why would someone wash the rcx5? If your not a swimmer why would you risk getting water in it. Besides, I thought you are not supposed to push the buttons when wet for that very reason.

You do not need to push buttons when washing. And You are not supposed to push buttons when clock is *under* the water, not when the clock is wet.

Anyway, from RCX5 manual, http://www.polar.fi/e_manuals/RCX5/P...ining_computer

"Keep your training computer and sensors clean. To maintain the water resistance, do not wash the training computer or the sensors with a pressure washer. Clean them with a mild soap and water solution and rinse them with clean water. Do not immerse them in water. Dry them carefully with a soft towel. Never use alcohol or any abrasive material such as steel wool or cleaning chemicals."

2 year warranty will take care of any stuck buttons but naturally it's still good to tend to the equipment and get any grit off when still *fresh* //kate
