Running index not calculated
Hi there,
I just got my RCX5 plus GPS. After a training (50min, 8km) there is not running index visible on my watch (just says --). The run qualifies to have a running index calculeted (>6km, at least 12 min and hartbeat higher than 40% of hartbeat reserve), I have looked for answers and there was a suggestion to activate a footpod even if you do not have one. However in RCX5 this is not possible, if you add a footpod he start looking for it and the watch obviously won't find a footpod. Any ideas how to make sure a running index is calculated. Many thanks.

Shouldn't that read running continuously at >6kph for more than 12 minutes rather than just more than 6km and more than 12 minutes....

I've now done two walks with mine and got Running Index calculated both times.

As suggested, maybe you didn't run continuously for long enough? The calculation will probably fail if you stop and start too many times. The manual says you can stop once without affecting the calculation.

Running index requirements for calculating
Hello,

Please read p47 of The rcx5 manual. It states that you may only stop once during an excercise otherwise RunningIndex can't be calculated.

There are some more criteria.

This probably is the reason why RI isn't calculated. I've had The same problem.

Regards
